Biointerface Research in Applied Chemistry was established in 2011 and published its first issue on 15 February 2011, with the aim of providing a rigorous, peer-reviewed, and open-access platform for scholarly research at the interface of chemistry, materials science, and biological systems.
Since its inception, the journal has been developed in accordance with internationally recognized standards of academic publishing, emphasizing editorial independence, scientific rigor, transparency, and ethical dissemination of research. The journal was founded to support the global exchange of scientific knowledge and to address contemporary scientific and technological challenges related to biointerfaces, applied chemistry, and bio-related materials through high-quality, evidence-based research.
Over time, Biointerface Research in Applied Chemistry has evolved to reflect advances in interdisciplinary research, while maintaining its core focus on chemical principles, surface phenomena, and material–biological interactions. The journal has been indexed in Scopus since 2016.
As part of its ongoing development and quality assurance process, the journal has submitted applications to Clarivate Analytics for potential inclusion in the Web of Science Core Collection. The journal’s editorial policies, scope, and publication practices are subject to periodic review to ensure alignment with developments in the field, emerging research directions, and best practices in scholarly communication.
