• acknowledgment of reviewer service in journal communications or reports, without linking reviewers to specific manuscripts;
• consideration of reviewer activity when identifying potential candidates for future editorial or advisory roles.
Reviewer identities are not disclosed in connection with individual manuscripts unless explicitly agreed upon by the reviewer and permitted by the peer-review model in use.
